There will be a Memorial Concert for Douglas Townsend on September 16, 2012, at 3PM. There will be 16 musicians performing 8 selections from Townsend's chamber music, with 6 of the 8 being NY or world premieres. There will also be 8 speakers making remarks about Douglas. A wine and cheese reception will be held afterwards at the same venue. The event is co-produced by concert pianist David Oei and Townsend's wife Jean. This event is free and open to the public. The venue is at 450 W. 37th St. (near 10th Ave.) in Manhattan, the new DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Cary Hall.
