War hero -- via the Washington Post. He smuggled a Jewish girl he fell in love with, Cyla Cybulska, out of Auschwitz. They separated and lost track of each other, and built new lives. Reuniting after 39 years, they remained great friends.
Brad, yes nice story but not true. i am the guy who took down the Herman Rosenblat book before it was published, google me, and now i have a new smoking gun on this hoax: Remeber the Herman story. THis is same, the man even has a website in Polish and a book published and before he died, he was probably hoping for a movie role. He is even listed in the imdb movie data base. This AP story was a hoax. I am looking into it now and will report my findings to the new York Times where reporter Dennis Hevesi also fell for it....HOAX! why are people so blind to these hoaxes?
