"By writing or reading obituaries, we can discover ways to make our time on earth more worthwhile, more productive, more meaningful to others."
Alana Baranick, "Life on the Death Beat"
"'I always read the obituaries in The Times,' I explained to her. 'They make me bloody glad to be alive.'"
John Mortimer, "Rumpole's Return"
John was a man who walked quietly, and left a huge wake. His energy was endless (until he became ill), and his spirit one of love, humor and creativity. He gave generously to this life and to those he loved. No, his true nature has not been captured in his obituary or the biography in his book. Maybe the true knowledge of a person can only be held in the hearts of those who loved and were loved by that being?
