Abbey Lincoln
One of the greatest jazz composers and singers -- via the New York Times. One of my heroines -- a Renaissance woman! I am including a recording of her song "Throw It Away," which has cheered me endless times when I was down, and I think serves as an admirable philosophy to live by.
